Howard Hedinger Memorial Scholarship Program

To provide scholarships to deserving high school graduating seniors of the Maurice Lucas Foundation Academy pursuing post-high school course of study at either a college/university or other post-secondary educational institution.

APPLication process

Applicant must submit the following items each year:

  1. Review the Scholarship Criteria & Guidelines.
  2. Completed Scholarship Application Form (if handwritten, please print legibly).
  3. Letter of application addressed to the Scholarship Committee. The letter should contain a brief explanation of career goals and biographical (background) information. If returning, please also provide any updates or changes to career goals.
  4. Copy of SAT or ACT test scores (if applicable).
  5. Include or upload the Essay as defined in the Application
  6. For scholarship renewal, a Transcript from the previous school year.

We are honored to name our scholarship after Howard Hedinger, a dear friend and supporter of the Maurice Lucas Foundation. Howard invested his life to supporting great charitable causes around the Portland metropolitan area. He was committed to helping children grow into all they were meant to be.
