David Lucas featured on KATU Afternoon Live – Re-Auction Fundraiser
Maurice Lucas helped bring an NBA championship to Portland, but off the court he was known for his dedication to the community. David Lucas, founder and executive director of the Maurice Lucas Foundation, joined us to share how the organization teaches life lessons through education and sport, supporting kids from middle school through to graduate school.
To support their efforts, the Maurice Lucas Foundation has created a new fundraiser — a re-auction.
About the Maurice Lucas Foundation
The Foundation is named in honor of the late Maurice Lucas (1952-2010), the leading scorer on the 1977 NBA champion Trail Blazers team. Besides his outstanding achievements on the court, Lucas also selflessly gave his time and energy to Portland youth. Since its formation in 2010, the Maurice Lucas Foundation has served thousands of students and families through its Academy program, basketball camps and teams.
